Dr. Poornima Ravindra Vijaya is currently an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science. She has previously taught at Sikkim Manipal University. She has completed her Ph.D. in International Relations from the Jindal School of International Affairs (JSIA) at O.P. Jindal Global University. She is a Board of Studies Member at of Department of Political Science at Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru. She is a Research Associate at Centre for the Study of Global International Relations (CSGIR) and Nehghinpao Kipgen’s Centre of Southeast Asian Studies (NKCSEAS) and has worked in independent research projects on ASEAN for Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Indonesia. She has taught Research Methodology, Indian Foreign Policy, Political Theory, Modern Indian Political Thought, Classical Indian Political Thought, Comparative Politics, Democratic Awareness, and Indo-Pacific Affairs to MA and BA students at various institutions. She is currently supervising two doctoral candidates at Sikkim Manipal University. Her research specialization includes Southeast Asia, Indo-Pacific Affairs, Middle Power Geopolitics, IR Theories, and Global IR perspectives. She has many publications including journal articles and book chapters in top tier international journals and publishers. She is also a member of International Studies Association (ISA) and European International Studies Association (EISA) and regularly participates in conferences.
