Recent Trends in Psychosocial Approach organized by National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru
Students from the Department of Social Work, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science participated in a Workshop on “Recent Trends in Psychosocial Approach” from January 27 to 29 2020, organized by National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru. Dr. Emmanuel Daniel, Faculty, Department of Social Work, KCLAS was the facilitator and faculty coordinator for the workshop.
Dr. Sekar, Registrar, NIMHANS gave an overview of the workshop and encouraged all the participants to have conceptual clarity before their practice sessions. The students were taken for a campus walk and the afternoon session was about Mental health. The students were given case studies and were divided in a group for a discussion. On the following days the students were taught in the domain of Disaster management, children in conflict with law, CSR, Life skills, family enrichment programs, Elderly care, emotional problems of children and recent trends in psychosocial approach.
