Guest talk on Strategy for Civil Service Exams - Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts & Science (KCLAS)

Department of Political Science had organized a guest talk on Strategy for Civil Service Exams and the art of reading newspapers by Mr. S. Chandrasekar, Head – Academics, Shankar IAS Academy, Chennai, on 19. 09. 2019. Chandrasekar started the guest lecture by giving a brief information about the scheme of the UPSC Civil Service Exams. And also gave a brief introduction about the services that they get into after passing the Civil Services Examination. He advised the students about the method of preparation for the exams. He stressed the importance of reading NCERT books as many questions has been asked frequently in the civil service exams.

Chandrasekar sir stressed that reading newspaper particularly ‘The Hindu’. Because it enables the students to improvise their English language skills and also they can have deep understanding about the issues relating to administration, public policy, and local governments. He stressed the students to read the Editorial section and center page articles being published in “The Hindu” newspaper. The session came to a close with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Nandhakumar of I B.A Political Science.
