Department of Commerce conducted a Guest Talk on “Consumer Buying Decision Making Process” by Mrs. Sindhu Kalyana Sundaram, Founder of Ignite Akademi, Coimbatore. Ms.Sindhu was based out of London managing multi – million pounds of programmes for Digital and CRM delivery across Europe and UK. She had conducted trainings for Adithya Birla Minces, Amrita University, Biocon, ELGI Equipments, Great Lakes Institute of Management, GMR, HCL Technologies, Ness Technologies, Rasi Seeds, Pricol Limited, Titan Eye Plus, Tanishq and TESCO. She is the past president of BNI Chapter and an Avid Toast Master, who have spoken at various division conferences. She had represented India at the SIFE International World Cup, Barcelona to talk about the role of students in the social sector. She is also the founding member of Samiksha, a social team that focuses on their personalities related to traffic rules.
The session started with a welcome address and introduction of the guest by Ms.Kavya Prakash, II B.COM PA. The session commenced with the introduction to consumer and influencers of the consumers. She then got into the details of the routine, limited and extensive decision making of the consumer with relevant examples. The speaker explained the different stages of consumer buying decision making process with appropriate real examples.
She gave a clear insight about the consumers buying patterns and the way they are influenced and the role of the opinion leaders. She conducted activities which gave a clear experience of buying out of interest and by influence and the time involved in purchasing those products. The session was very interactive and more of activity based learning. This session ended up with the vote of thanks by Mr.Vimal.S II B.COM PA. The participants dispersed with a great knowledge through practical learning and application.
