Guest Talk

The Department of Social work organized a guest talk on Corporate Social Responsibility on 30.10.2019. Mr.Balakumar Thangavelu, Associate Director from Cognizant Outreach addressed the students and instilled them with his motivational speech and presentation.

Mr. Sriram from Chennai, Writer, story teller and founder of Nalandaway and Ashoka fellow addressed the social work students. The interaction was very lively and informative. The students shared their realtime experiences working with the community and the guest also shared details about the NGO run by him, it’s history and functioning. Altogether it was a fun filled session with utmost benefit for the students.

The Department of Social Work, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science organized a Workshop on “DISABILITY MANAGEMENT”, for the first year Master of Social Work Students on 14th October 2019. There were four Resource persons who took sessions on various disabilities under the Rights for Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016, for this workshop.Read More

The Tamil Nadu Cricket association for the Blind (TNCB) and The Department of Social Work, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science, organized the Second Challengers Trophy Cricket tournament for the visually impaired on 19th and 20th of October, 2019 at Kumaraguru Institutions. Forty two players from different parts of Tamil Nadu had participated in the event.Team “Tamil Nadu Red” were the winners of this tournament. Dr. Emmanuel Daniel, from the Department of Social Work was the faculty coordinator for this event.
