The Department of Political Science has organized a 5-day National Immersion Program on Human Security from January 20 to 24, 2025 at the Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS), Hyderabad. A total of 34 students have attended the program (31 from Political Science; 2 from BBA and 1 from BBA IB). The certificate program aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of human security challenges, both traditional and non-traditional, while exploring practical approaches to address them.
The three-day certificate program focused on diverse topics, including Mapping India’s Human Security Challenges: Understanding current mechanisms and exploring new solutions through design thinking; Global Human Security Challenges: Analysing institutional responses and identifying emerging avenues; Emerging Technologies and Human Security: Examining India’s position regarding legal and ethical frameworks, artificial intelligence, data sovereignty, and algorithmic foreign relations. On Day 2 (January 21, 2025), students visited ICCC (Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre), Hyderabad, where they also received an orientation on the traffic management system and security operations in the city. The program has equipped the students to contribute effectively to policymaking and implementation within the 21st-century global security architecture, prioritizing human dignity and well-being.
