School of Commerce organized aCertificate Course on “Fundamentals of Capital Markets and Fundamentals of Research Analysis”. The Resource person was Mr. Glenn Roger Carr Founder Director, Fin mark Trainers India Pvt Ltd Chennai. Glenn is a MCOM, PG Diploma in Sales from NIS. He joined Navia Markets Ltd. as a Management Trainee in 1994 and moved on to head the company online trading and NRI business verticals. In 2004, Glenn was instrumental in setting up the group’s foray into the Portfolio Management business for which he was their Principal Officer. In 2009 Glenn moved on to join Unifi Capital, the largest PMS Player in South India in a senior management role. Glenn has a total of 25 years of rich experience in the area of advisory and Portfolio management services to the Resident and Non Resident Indian Investor. Glenn is also a Founder-Director of Fin mark.
The certificate program commenced on 29th December 2021. It was conducted by Mr. Glenn Roger Carr who is the Founder and Director of Fin mark Trainers India Pvt Ltd. Faculty Coordinator for this program was Ms. H. Maheshwari. The student coordinators for this program were Ms. Mridulaa and Mr. Karthikeyan of 2nd year B.com.PA. On the first class of “Fundamentals of Capital Markets”, the students learnt about Indian financial system and types of financial markets. In the second class, they learnt about financial market instruments in depth and later they learnt about primary and secondary market. And there after they learnt about Stock Exchange in detail. It was also the most interesting part of “Fundamentals of Capital Markets”.
The students also had an interactive session about Fundamental Analysis. In the later time period, they learnt about Time value of money, financial statements, valuation of stocks, Ratio analysis and much more stock related concepts which were very informative. The students attended online exams on these courses to get certificates. On 12th of January 2021; certificate program came to an end. Pavan Kumar S was the topper in the certificate course – scored 86/100.
The students found the session to be interesting and very informative. Moreover, it was innovative, easy for the students to grasp the topic and very engaging. The course helped the students to understand the Capital Markets practically and enhanced with real time experience.
The School of Commerce, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science is offering a Pre-School Certificate Course on “COMPUTERISED ACCOUNTING – TALLY & EXCEL”. The course throws light on the application of Tally Software for book-keeping and the usage of MS Excel in decision making. This course is offered for free of cost to the school students of grade XI and XII. The course started on 8th January 2022 with 18 schools, nearly 120 students from various places.
School of Commerce has conducted a certificate course on Tally Essentials for III B.Com from 22.12.2021 to 05.01.2022. This course was organised by Professor Dr. N.Sumathy, HOD of Commerce. Students were trained by Mrs. K. Vasanthi, Training and Academy head, AXN Infotech, Coimbatore. This certificate course was extremely useful and interesting. We gained lot of knowledge and had practical experience of the concept. In this course we learnt several things including Introduction to Tally Prime, fundamentals of accounting, company creation in tally prime, maintaining chart of accounts in tally prime, maintaining stock keeping units, recording and maintaining accounting transactions in tally prime, banking, MIS report and GST. Overall this certificate course was highly beneficial and will definitely help us in our future career.
The certificate program commenced on 29thDecember 2021.It was conducted by Mr. Prakash who is a Digital Marketing Consultant and a trainer in 360 Digiting, Coimbatore. The faculty coordinator was Dr. N. Sridevi and the student coordinators were Mr. Bharath Waaj and Ms. Swarna of II B.com. Our first class was an introductory session where we discussed about marketing, its types and its process. Sir made us understand the difference between traditional and digital marketing. The next day we had practical classes on using keywords on sites to know how to market a particular product or service. A Brief description on optimization of title tag, heading tag and inner page URL and body of the content was showcased. On the other day submission of directory, article and ppt was explained. Sir taught us how to promote a video and gave us a detailed note on the benefits of Social Media Optimization. New terms like Search Engine Marketing, quality score became very known terms to us. Moreover, the session enlightened our minds and showed us a new vision to knowledge. Finally, an assessment was conducted on 11 January to test our knowledge on this course. We really enjoyed this new learning. Thanks to our management for providing such a wonderful course
School of Commerce had organized an Certificate Course (CC) on “ Data Analytics using SPSS and Tableau” for the students of III year B.Com. PA. from 22/12/2021 to 29/12/2021. The trainer for this Certificate Programme was Dr. R. Dhinesh Babu, Founder and Director of Brainswig Edutech Pvt. Ltd., Chennai. He possesses 12 years of training experience in Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Dhinesh is one of the 30 Certified Data Scientists in India.
The programme began with a welcome address and brief introduction of the trainer by M. Goutham of III B.Com. PA. The sessions were on Data Collection, Data Analysis using SPSS Software, Creating various pictoral and graphical representation through Tableau Software. A few snippets on Artificial Intelligence were shared. Videos on the importance of Big Data and Data Analytics by Artificial Intelligence were played to enable the students to understand the vitality of AI in the modern business world.
The Course gave knowledge to the students about two new softwares, SPSS and Tableau. They were broken down into groups, given different situations and data sets. Through that they analysed the data and came to conclusions. Finally, each group was asked to present their study. Three sets of question forms were circulated among the students. Each set consisted of 66 questions carrying 2 marks each. The students had to fill the form and they were evaluated based on it. Thus evaluation was in 2 stages, one based on the presentation and also based on the answers to the mcqs. The session ignited the spark of research and data analysis in the minds of the students, enabling them to carry on their research work successfully
KCLAS Signed a MoU with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Coimbatore Chapter on 05-01-2022. Hereafter, School of Commerce at KCLAS would be coordinating with the Coimbatore chapter of ICAI to conduct the coaching class for foundation course at our campus for any one, who is having curiosity to study CMA. The classes for foundation courses started on 17-01-2022 for our first year students of the batch 2021. KCLAS also signed a MoU with Master Professional Academy for seamless functioning of the coaching classes by leveraging their expertise in the domain of Cost and Management Accountancy.
School of Commerce of Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science orgainsed an Expert Conversation on Accounting and its practicalities on Tuesday, 28th of December 2021 at 10.30 am. The speaker for the session was CA Varsha Prakash Dhadve, a Chartered Accountant who is working as an Assistant Manager in Statutory Audit in Deloitte Haskins and Sells LLP, Mumbai. She is a qualified Auditor having experience in statutory audit, tax audit, bank audit, financial audit etc.
The expert conversation started with an introduction from the first year B.Com. PA student Adhithya who introduced the guest and set the context for the event. The guest gave a brief introduction of various topics of Accountancy and then making them practically applicable in such a way that both theoretical and practical is covered. The expert conversation went for around 55 minutes followed by a Question and Answer session of 10 minutes. The speaker answered all the questions asked by the participants. At, the end, Aishwarya G, a first year B.Com. PA students delivered a vote of thanks.
Learning Accountancy does not make sense if it is not practiced and practicing what is learned from books creates a gap. In this expert conversation that gap was addressed where the gap between theory and application can be minimized with different tactics. It helped the students to have a different perspective while learning the subject in the classroom. To have the approach of an Auditor while recording the transactions itself helps them have a better understanding of the accounting flow.

He is also associated with Integra HR Solutions, providing Sales Training programs and recruitment services. Also, he is associated with BSE Training Institute as a Training Consultant for its certification programs.

In short, he has built some potential and prospective investors of the future!

Also, he is associated with BSE Training Institute as a Training Consultant for its certification programs. Before joining to Mphasis, he was working with Cognizant Technology Solutions Chennai, Tamil Nadu as a Business Analyst. He has many certifications in the finance domain like wealth management and financial modeling.

School of Commerce Conducted National Consumer Rights Programme with the theme of Reducing Plastics usage for all KCLAS Students on 27/12/2021. The Resource person was Dr. Vijayathilagam, Assistant Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Chennai. Dr.J. Vijayathilagam is a well-known personality & popular panelist in many seminars and conferences also represented the government of Tamil nandu and presented papers in many conferences on promotion of consumer awareness. She holds a postgraduate and doctorate in philosophy. Dr. Vijayathilam has been instrumental in spreading consumer awareness and her most prominent project is the kudumbashree in Kerala in 2005.She was in the editorial committee for four years (2002-2006) for Mutram a monthly magazine published by the women development corporation government of Tamil Nadu. Her co-ordination in many short films created immense awareness. She had been trained by German Technical Cooperation, at Bhubaneshwar, Orissa representing Dept of CP, Government of Tamil Nadu. She has been a mediator in FICCI, New Delhi, representing Government of Tamil Nadu. She had been the Master Trainer in Women Development Cooperation, Government of Tamil Nadu in training Self Help Group women Transgender. She is a guest faculty at Anna Institute of Management and NSIC, Government of Tamil Nadu. The second Guest was Dr. Sumathy, Professor and Head of Commerce Department, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

She announced the results of Various event conducted in commemorating National consumer Rights Day. The Session was ended by Vote of thanks by Mr. Sridhar, President Consumer Club.

The Vattamalai Dam near the VELLKOVIL is overflowing after 35 years. Members of the Tirupur Rider Club arrived yesterday to cycle from Tirupur, several kms, to enjoy the rummy of the dam.
Bicycle to enjoy the dam The Vattamalai embankment near the White Temple is overflowing. Thirty-five years later, at the request of the farmers, the government, the BAP, opened the water to the canal. Thirty members of the Tirupur Raider Club travelled 100 km by bicycle from Tirupur to the Vattamalai embankment yesterday.
Rajkumar, Chairman, Mahatma Gandhi Charitable Trust, Vellakoil, and Sivakumar, Chairman, Kangayam Flowers Foundation, were present on the occasion. The Tirupur Reuters Club conducts such trips on weekly Sundays.
