Preparatory Work and Curriculum Alignment \nTo ensure students derive maximum value from such programs\, it is imperative that adequate preparatory work is undertaken at least a semester in advance. The following areas must be part of a structured pre-immersion curriculum: \n\n\n	Foundations of Entrepreneurship\n	Design Thinking and Innovation\n	Business Finance\n	Entrepreneurial Negotiations\n	Business Models and Value Creation\n\n\nIn addition to the above\, there must be focused skill-building modules on: \nPublic Speaking and Presentation Skills \nCross-Cultural Collaboration and Teamwork \nThese preparatory sessions should culminate in a final pitch presentation\, based on which eligible students may be selected to travel to Babson or any other immersions on Business & Entrepreneurship. Participation should be merit-based\, ensuring that students are not only choosing the pathway but are also demonstrating readiness and commitment. \nIt is also crucial that stakeholders such as parents\, the FORGE team\, and other relevant units of KI are involved early in the preparation process to ensure holistic support and mentoring for the selected cohort. \n2. Feedback on Course Content at Babson \nWhile the Babson brand offers international exposure\, the content delivered during the recent program was observed to be very foundational in nature\, and did not meet the expectations for deep\, intensive learning. Given the premium cost involved\, it is important to assess the return on learning and explore alternate institutions that offer more rigorous and academically enriching experiences. \nOne notable concern was the lack of post-session engagement\, such as discussion forums\, reading assignments\, and reflective exercises—components that are standard \nin leading institutions like IIMs. These elements are essential to deepen understanding and apply learnings in meaningful ways. \n\n3. Recommendations for Future Cohorts \nCurriculum Revision: Include more advanced and experiential learning elements in collaboration with faculty and industry experts. \nRigorous Selection Process: Base international immersion eligibility on preparedness\, pitch performance\, and participation in all preparatory modules. \nInstitute Evaluation: Explore partnerships with institutions that provide deeper\, application-oriented learning experiences\, possibly beyond Babson. \nPost-Session Engagement: Insist on structured post-session activities such as reading assignments\, peer discussions\, and reflective assessments. \nBy implementing these suggestions\, we can ensure that our students not only receive global exposure but also return with a truly transformative learning experience.

He reminded the graduates that the degree represents not just knowledge but also responsibility — to themselves\, their families\, and the future of India\, especially as the nation moves toward its centenary in 2047. \nHe also underlined the importance of continuous learning\, resilience\, and staying connected to one’s roots. Drawing attention to the evolving global and national landscape\, he encouraged graduates to be curious\, to engage with the world thoughtfully\, and to remain adaptable. \nHe urged the graduates to craft bold visions for their future\, to return to KCLAS often for inspiration\, and to remain grateful to all who contributed to their journey. He extended his heartfelt wishes to the graduating class\, expressing pride in their achievements and confidence in their bright futures. \nDuring the Graduation Day Address – Amb. Pankaj Saran\, Former Indian Diplomat Inspires KCLAS Graduates to Embrace Fearlessness and Character\nFormer Indian diplomat Amb. Pankaj Saran urged graduates to step into the future with courage\, integrity\, and compassion. He commended Kumaraguru Institutions for fostering an environment where tradition and modernity coexist\, and for shaping young minds ready to face the challenges of the world. \nAddressing the graduating students\, Amb. Saran emphasized the transformative power of a college education\, which he said liberates minds and opens doors to infinite possibilities. Drawing from personal experience\, he encouraged students to embrace uncertainty and to experiment fearlessly. Sharing his own journey — from an engineering student to an economics graduate to eventually becoming a diplomat — Amb. Saran illustrated how life often unfolds in unexpected ways. He emphasized that it is perfectly acceptable not to have all the answers immediately after graduation\, and that experimentation\, coupled with courage\, often leads to one’s true calling. \nAmb. Saran offered three key lessons: be fearless\, respect and believe in oneself\, and accept failure as a fundamental part of life. He spoke about the irreplaceable value of time and energy in youth and urged students to seize the moment. Stressing the importance of maintaining both mental and physical well-being\, he advised the young graduates to find balance in life\, pick up hobbies\, and stay physically active. \nReflecting on the current global context\, Amb. Saran highlighted the paradox of a world that is increasingly interconnected yet fractured. He noted that technological revolutions\, especially in AI\, quantum computing\, and biotechnology\, are reshaping the world\, and he challenged the students to think critically about how technology can be harnessed for the greater good. \nAmb. Saran also emphasized the importance of communication skills\, stating that in a world overwhelmed by information and disinformation\, the ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully would be an essential skill for success. He further urged graduates to nurture an entrepreneurial spirit\, encouraging them not just to seek jobs but to create opportunities for others. \nHe called upon the graduates to celebrate their “Indianness” and highlighted India’s rise as a global leader\, expressing confidence that the coming decades would mark a transformational era for the nation. Amb. Saran reminded the graduates that they were stepping into a golden age of opportunity\, with the world looking to India for leadership and innovation. SUMMARY:Kumaraguru MUN - 2024
DESCRIPTION:KMUN – ‘2024\nThe Department of Political Science\, in collaboration with Qubate\, successfully organized the Kumaraguru Model United Nations (K-MUN) 2024 from 27th to 30th September 2024. This three-day event provided a dynamic and immersive platform for 178 delegates from different colleges and schools to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing global issues. \nThe primary objective of K-MUN 2024 was to offer students/delegates a unique simulation experience\, where they role-played as diplomats in six UN committees. Participants engage in debates on global issues\, mirroring UN proceedings. Through this\, participants developed crucial skills in diplomacy\, public speaking\, and critical thinking\, while deepening their understanding of international relations and global challenges firsthand. K-MUN 2024 has not only empowered them to voice their ideas but also inspired constructive debate\, helping shape future global leaders. \nThe event aims to foster a collaborative environment where delegates can explore solutions to pressing global challenges\, thereby empowering their voices and embracing change through informed and constructive debate. \nWorking of MUN:\nModel United Nations (MUN) operates on a structured framework designed to simulate real-world diplomatic proceedings. Each committee within the MUN selects a maximum of two broad topics for discussion and debate. These debates follow proper procedures\, including formats such as Moderated Caucus\, where delegates speak in a structured order on a specific aspect of the topic; Unmoderated Caucus\, allowing for free-form discussion and negotiation; and General Speeches\, where delegates present their country’s stance. This format ensures a comprehensive exploration of the chosen topics from various perspectives. \nThe MUN event typically spans two to three days\, providing ample time for in-depth discussions and negotiations. As the debates progress\, delegates work collaboratively to draft resolutions that address the issues at hand. These draft resolutions are then presented to the entire committee for consideration. The goal is to refine these drafts through further debate and negotiation until they can be officially adopted as resolutions. The successful passage of these resolutions marks the conclusion of the session\, representing the culmination of the delegates’ efforts in diplomatic problem-solving and consensus-building. \nCOMMITTEES:\n\n UNSC: United Nations Security Council \n UNHRC: United Nations Human Rights Council \n UNEP: United Nations Environment Programme \n HCC: Historic Crisis Committee \n AIPPM: All India Political Parties Meet \n IPC: International Press Corps\n\n\n \n Enhanced Diplomatic Skills\n Informed Perspectives\n Collaborative Problem-Solving\n Personal Growth\n Networking Opportunities\n \n\nKMUN 2024 is expected to play a pivotal role in cultivating a robust MUN culture within Kumaraguru College\, encouraging a tradition of active engagement in international diplomacy among students. By providing a platform for emerging diplomats to showcase their skills and insights\, the event will help nurture the next generation of leaders\, equipping them with the experience and expertise needed to excel in future diplomatic endeavours.
